    Primary Purpose:

    Support the use of educational technology devices and software by campus staff and students.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Qualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certification

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Ability to operate learning technologies and educational software
    • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to follow and maintain systems and records
    • Ability to multi-task technology and instruction-related activities
    • Ability to work with students and teachers effectively
    • Self-starter in supporting instructional and campus use of technology
    • Willing to learn basic technology troubleshooting and implement new learning in daily school processes

    Experience:

    • Experience using educational technologies preferred

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Support the distribution, troubleshooting, and use of devices and educational technologies.

    Educational Technology Support

    • Assist students and classroom teachers in the use of educational devices and software.
    • Respond to requests for technology troubleshooting and instructional software support.
    • Collaborate and communicate with campus professionals to support digital learning on campus.
    • Access and use reports related to inventory and circulation.
    • Handle device triage process for technology repair.
    • Document device issues and notes for repair.
    • Collect and track documentation.

    Educational Technology Inventory

    • Maintain/create proper storage of equipment.
    • Monitor spare and replacement device counts.
    • Conduct a yearly inventory of technology devices on campus.
    • Monitor carts/labs in shared device locations.
    • 1:1 support device audits on campus.
    • Share updates with campus leaders and others on campus.
    • Support testing readiness.

    Other

    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
    • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Evaluation

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including technology devices

    Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

    Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

    Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)

    Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

    Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

    2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $23,932 Mid. $27,988 Max. $32,045 (Based on previous experience)

    Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.

    Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
