General Function:
Working under the authority of the Executive Director of Safety and/or designee, the Safety Aide Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the school site safety aides who provide personnel, equipment, and real property safety assistance for faculty, staff, students, and visitors within an assigned area of the District. Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts, delegate's authority, assigns responsibilities. Investigate incidents and/or complaints and compile data for accurate reporting. Provides escort services and other basic public assistance services as needed. Perform routine safety aide activities and public safety patrol duties when required. Remains alert to emergencies and provides first-line response, emergency management, and/or referral if required.
Education/Training/Experience:
Minimum: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license. High school diploma or GED. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred: Bilingual: English-Spanish
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
Ability to successfully conduct safety patrols without direct supervision. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to complete routine paperwork. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Skill in performing building safety checks and lock procedures. Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures. Skill in providing protective services to individuals on campus. Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Salary Range:
$52,000 to $58,421 ($25.00 to $28.00 per hour)

Standard office equipment and software platforms such as Microsoft Office and the Google Suite. Department vehicles. Appropriate safety equipment.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Regularly required to stand; move throughout a room and/or facility. Communicate verbally and electronically. Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, and drive. May have occasion to perform light lifting up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and private automobile. Some evening or weekend work and travel may be required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Environmental Conditions:
Walking and working in outdoor climates unique to Northern New Mexico for several hours at a time, reading, speaking to individuals, and large audiences. Sitting for extended periods, typing, and driving.
