Do you have a passion for bringing science to life? Montgomery County School in Virginia is now accepting applications for a middle school science teacher position that is available at Blacksburg Middle School for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with the appropriate endorsement to teach science at the high school level
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
  • Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
  • Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
  • Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
  • Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
  • Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
  • Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a master's degree in Education and/or the specific subject area

FLSA: Exempt

SALARY: $52,889.00 - $88,182.05 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience and pro-rated to start date
