JOB SUMMARY

Peer Advisor Coordinators provide leadership and mentorship to the Peer Advisor team while continuing to support first-year students. Coordinators serve as role models, guide a group of Peer Advisors, ensure timely communication and documentation, and promote a strong, connected team culture through regular check-ins and community-building efforts.

Coordinators are expected to lead as servant leaders and team players, approaching their work with empathy, accountability, and a shared commitment to advancing the mission of the program with excellence. This is a paid student leadership position offering up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, with opportunities to strengthen supervision, communication, and program leadership skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a model of leadership through professional communication, accountability, and respectful interactions with students, staff, and faculty.

Serve on a Coordinator project team, participating in regular team meetings and helping plan, implement, and reflect on initiatives that support Peer Advisor development and first-year student success, as assigned.

Provide individualized check-ins and guidance to help assigned Peer Advisors navigate challenges and stay successful in their role.

Monitor assigned PAs' engagement, attendance, and completion of required tasks, following up when support or accountability is needed.

Assist with Peer Advisor recruitment by helping host info sessions, interviewing applicants, and supporting the onboarding and training of newly hired PAs.

Coordinate Peer Advisor participation in major campus events-including Open House, June Orientation, and August Welcome Weekend-by assigning roles, training PAs on expectations, scheduling their shifts, and communicating logistics from campus partners such as Admissions and Student Engagement.

Support and document minor disciplinary steps in accordance with the PA discipline policy and escalate issues as needed.

Support your assigned ULife class by assisting the instructor during class sessions and providing out-of-class support to students through communication, check-ins, and activities that promote engagement and success.

Participate in scheduled performance evaluations to reflect on progress, receive feedback, and identify areas for growth.

Hold a minimum of two weekly office hours at an assigned front desk, demonstrating professionalism while providing peer support and assisting with general office tasks.

Submit accurate activity logs and timesheets every two weeks to ensure accurate tracking of hours and fulfillment of job responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successfully completed the Peer Advisor Coordinator 2026-2027 interview process and was selected for hire or is a returning Peer Advisor Coordinator.

Will have completed at least 30 credits by May 15, 2026.

Will be registered for at least 12 credits for Fall 2026, unless otherwise approved.

Will maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher, with no incomplete grades.

Is in good judicial standing with the University and have no active or unresolved conduct issues on my record.
