    Description

    The School District of Beloit is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional-EvenStart Family Literacy Program. This position will support the EvenStart Coordinator in providing instructional and developmental support to students and families within the School District of Beloit. The role focuses on early childhood education, family engagement, and student achievement, working directly with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (3K). The Paraprofessional will be responsible for assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons, monitoring students, preparing classroom activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the students in the EvenStart program.

    What You''ll Do:

    • Instructional Support: Assist the EvenStart Coordinator in developing and implementing early childhood lesson plans for large groups, small groups, and one-on-one instruction for infants, toddlers, and 3K classrooms.

    • Student Monitoring: Supervise students in various settings such as the classroom, playground, field trips, lunchroom, and bus areas to ensure safety and create a positive learning environment.

    • Classroom Preparation: Assist with setting up the classroom for learning, including preparing materials for activities, bulletin boards, art projects, and family engagement activities.

    • Observation Reporting: Report observations and incidents concerning student behavior (e.g., accidents, conflicts, rule violations) to the EvenStart Coordinator and/or school administrators.

    • Early Childhood Care: Provide attendant care duties for early childhood students, including assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting.

    • Professional Development: Attend school and district professional development sessions focused on early childhood education and best practices in the learning environment.

    • Family Engagement: Support family engagement initiatives and activities, including providing resources or information to families to foster involvement in their child''s learning.
