2026-2027 Multilingual Specialist Pool - All levels @ Instruction Department

Pool is forming to accept eligible applicants for entrance into the Multilingual Programs Leadership Pool. The pool includes applicants who are interested in becoming an ESL Specialist elementary/intermediate), ELD Interventionist (elementary/intermediate), and ESL Department Chair (middle and high school). Only applicants accepted into the pool can apply for vacant ELL leadership positions.

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
• Valid educator certi?cation and highly quali?ed status for the position advertised (grade appropriate)
• Valid ESL or bilingual certi?cation (grade appropriate)
• Minimum of three years classroom teaching experience as a teacher of ELLs
• English profciency (oral and literacy skills); Bilingual preferred but not required
• Multiple grade level experience required (Elementary)
• STAAR Grades teaching experience required
• Trained in ELPS, TELPAS and Sheltered All applicants must be SIOP trained.
• T-Tess: Pro?cient or above
• Knowledge & understanding of Language Development and Best Practices for instructing ELLs
• Instructional leadership skills and experience
• Knowledge & understanding of the district's Bilingual Education Program (elementary and intermediate)
• Knowledge & understanding of the district's Dual Language Program (elementary, intermediate and middle school)
• Knowledge & understanding of the district's ESL program
• Pro?cient with Microsoft O?ce 365 including Excel, Slidedecks, Cambium, Schoolcity & Schoology
• Experience teaching reading and completion of Reading

Probationary contract - 187 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district

2025-2026 Salary Schedule

Minimum teacher salary is $66,500 (base $64,100 + $2,400 Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Stipend)

Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
