    Primary Purpose:

    Responsible for providing instruction and assuring each child is well cared for and safe at the CISD Employee Child Care Center.

    Qualifications:

    • 18 years of age or older

    Education/Certification:

    Per the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS), new employees with less than 2 years' experience must:

    • Obtain 24 hours of pre-service training within 90 days of hire to work in a licensed center (employees will not be compensated for pre-service hours)
    • Complete 8 of the 24 hours of pre-service training hours before being counted in the child/caregiver ratio
    • Have high school diploma, high school equivalent, or high school certificate of coursework completion as defined in Texas Education Code, §28.025(d)
    • Acquire and maintain current CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's certificates,
    • TAcquire exas Education Aide Certificate or Child Development Associates (CDA)
    • Associates Degree in Early Childhood or closely related field or Valid (Preferred)

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Knowledge of TDFPS minimum standards for child-care centers
    • Knowledge of developmental milestones of young children
    • Ability to work flexible hours, be punctual and demonstrate a positive attitude
    • Display good communication skills and ability to receive and follow directions
    • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal skills and enjoy being around children
    • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability
    • Ability to work with diverse populations

    Experience:

    • Experience in a licensed child care related fields preferred

    Salary:

    Minimum $23,684 (191 days

    Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
