1st Shift -- Welder & Fabrication Technician

BlueWave is hiring a Welder & Fabrication Technician for an aerospace client based in Long Beach, California. As Welder & Fabrication Technician, you will fabricate and weld production tooling using flux-cored arc welding processes. You will prepare materials and equipment, inspect completed work, and collaborate with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication issues and improve tooling.

Responsibilities

• Perform flux-cored arc welding on steel up to one inch thick
• Fabricate tooling hardware according to geometry and quality requirements
• Fit, form, clean, and prepare parts for welding
• Set up welding equipment and jig tables
• Operate metal fabrication equipment
• Handle raw materials and completed weldments
• Inspect welds and finished parts for conformance
• Identify weld defects and complete necessary corrections
• Work from tooling and geometry requirements
• Collaborate with engineering personnel to troubleshoot problems and improve tooling
• Maintain quality while supporting a fast-paced production schedule

Requirements

• Strong flux-cored arc welding experience
• Ability to weld steel up to one inch thick
• Strong metal fabrication skills
• Experience fitting, forming, and cleaning parts
• Experience setting up welding equipment
• Ability to inspect welds and identify defects
• Experience operating metal fabrication equipment
• Experience setting up and working with jig tables
• Ability to interpret and work from tooling and geometry requirements
• Ability to contribute effectively with minimal ramp-up time

Employment Type: 1-month contract; 100% onsite in Long Beach, California
Pay Rate: $40 per hour
Schedule: First shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; potential overtime and weekend work based on workload
Anticipated Start: As soon as possible
