    Description

    Novacel is seeking a 1st shift utility operator responsible for running a machine and the efficient movement, storage and tracking of materials and finished product across our machine operator areas. This role ensures materials are received, organized and delivered to the appropriate locations to support operational workflow and production efficiency. This position in for our Palmer, MA location.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
     
    •Produce finished products according to work orders and specifications 
    • Operate 475 machine in accordance with written instructions (JSA) and manufacturing processes 
    • Monitor product quality and cleanliness throughout production 
    • Identify and report substandard materials or process issues to the supervisor 
    • Accurately document and record all production and quality assurance activities 
    • Prepare and mix adhesives, release coatings, and inks for production 
    • Set plates and mount them onto shafts as required 
    • Perform general material handling and support production operations 
    • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the work area
    •Support coater and slitter operators by supplying required materials. 
    •Ensure safe storage and handling of all materials.
    •Maintain a safe work environment for self and others in the area.
    •Follow and apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices. 
    •Interpret order documentation to accurately fulfill material requests.
    •Pick, package, and prepare materials for shipment.
    •Label and relabel materials as needed, including creating labels.
    •Load and unload containers and trucks.
    •Maintain organization of inventory and storage areas. 
    •Other duties as assigned.
     
    Required Qualifications & Skills:
     
    •High school diploma or GED required. 
    •Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
    •At least 2 years of experience operating sit down and standup material handling equipment.
    •Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems.
    •Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    •Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    •Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
    •Able to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
    •Able to work in various environmental conditions, including temperature changes and noise).
    •Willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed.
