1ST SHIFT TOOL ROOM SUPERVISOR - LORAIN, OHIO
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all Tool Room activities supporting production & engineering.
This Position is the First Line Supervisor of the Tool Room to include tool & die build & repair, precision grinding, preventative tool maintenance, etc.
Provide leadership and supervises the hourly tool room team.
Ability to identify, select, train and coach team members.
Responsible for overall coordination and communication within department and production.
Interacts with production, engineering, materials and quality teams regarding key / open issues.
Responsible for procurement of parts needed to keep tooling functioning properly to meet manufacturing needs.
Monitor all department ISO / IATF16969 requirements to satisfy corporate requirements.
Maintains documentation and records various data for the department as required.
Oversee the activities of the tool room to effectively support plant operations.
Responsible for related safety requirements.
Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker or Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
8 plus years' of experience in the Tool & Die Trade. Minimum of 5 years experience in a Leadership or Supervisor's Position.
Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant would be helpful
Performance Management and Advanced Equipment Troubleshooting skills are desired
Knowledge of ISO / IATF16949 Requirements
Knowledge of Stamping, Assembly & Welding, Cutting, Forming, Grinding, Tool Sharpening, Milling, Tool Steel Composition, Hardness Testing, Blueprint Reading, Tool & Die Build/Repair and Tooling Selection.
Problem Solving / Analysis & Computer Proficiency
Ability to Communicate with all levels of personnel including Customers & Suppliers
Knowledge of related Safety Requirements.
This Position Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
