    1ST SHIFT TOOL & DIE MAKER NEEDED - DUNDEE, MICHIGAN

    A Leading Automotive Supplier near Dundee, Michigan needs a 1st Shift Tool & Die Maker. They do more Stamping Die Tryout here than Die Repair. Candidates should be able to build a Die from Start to Finish.
     
    This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

     
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    Maintain, build, and upgrade dies, fixtures, and gauges
    Make decisions and judgments about proper course of action for repair and maintenance
    Demonstrates good short- and long-term decision making in these areas:
    Diagnosis of problem and courses of action
    Tool room repair and maintenance work
    Tool Room machining practices
    Program timing, meeting deadlines
    Perform all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
    Promote teamwork and shows a willingness to work with other departments
    Participate in continuous improvement activities
    This full-time role is a part of our Tool & Die team and reports to the Manufacturing Manager
    We ll provide position-specific details including physical and focused efforts, working environment and conditions, and reasonable accommodations during the interview process
     
     
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
     
    Tooling Troubleshooting
    High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or eight years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
    Must have valid Driver s License
    Must be able to safely operate forklift
    Must be able to safely operate overhead canes
    Ability to run all tool room and precision equipment efficiently
    Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    Diagnosis of problem and courses of action
    Tool Room repair and maintenance work
    Tool Room machining practices
    Program timing, meeting deadlines
    Perform all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
    Promote teamwork and shows a willingness to work with other departments.
    Participate in continuous improvement activities.
    A Journeyman s Card is preferred.
