    Sigma Systems is Hiring a Packaging Technician in Athens, GA!

    Sigma Systems is seeking an experienced Packaging Technician to join a vaccine manufacturing team in Athens, GA. This is a great opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or production packaging experience who enjoy working in a quality-focused environment.

    The Packaging Technician will be responsible for operating packaging equipment, inspecting vaccine products, completing GMP documentation, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform labeling, inspection, and packaging activities for vaccine products.
    • Operate packaging equipment including labelers, pick-and-place systems, heat tunnels, vision systems, and other production machinery.
    • Ensure packaging line targets and production goals are achieved.
    • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting of packaging equipment.
    • Inspect finished products accurately according to quality standards and procedures.
    • Complete batch records, manufacturing documentation, and material usage records accurately.
    • Follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.
    • Perform QA line clearances and support quality requirements.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
    • Communicate production updates, process issues, and inventory needs to supervisors and team members.
    • Participate in daily team performance reviews and continuous improvement activities.
    • Support cross-training opportunities within the manufacturing department.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma required.
    • Associate degree preferred or equivalent manufacturing experience.
    • 2–3 years of manufacturing or production experience required.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
    • Experience operating manufacturing or packaging equipment.
    • Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment/process issues.
    • Basic computer skills and math skills.
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of manufacturing or packaging experience.
    • Pharmaceutical, biotech, vaccine, or regulated manufacturing experience.
    • Experience working in a GMP environment.
    • Forklift certification.a
