    1st Shift Maintenance Technician


    Position: Maintenance Technician

    Department: Maintenance

    Reports to: Maintenance Leader

    Position Description

    Maintenance Technician for a tool and die and metal stamping facility. Responsible for maintaining facility systems, large stamping presses, CNC machines, and related production equipment.

    Position Priorities

    •      Preventive and reactive maintenance on large stamping presses

    •      Maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines

    •      Facility and building systems maintenance

    •      Support production uptime through timely repairs and preventive work

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The following duties and responsibilities may not include additional tasks assigned daily.

    Equipment Maintenance

    •      Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on large mechanical stamping presses

    •      Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines and related equipment

    •      Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues

    •      Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and documentation of work completed

    •      Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime

    Facility Maintenance

    •      Perform minor building, shop, and facility maintenance as needed

    •      Support general plant systems and infrastructure

    •      Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

    Communication & Accountability

    •      Communicate clearly with team members, leaders, and supervisors

    •      Document maintenance work and report equipment status accurately

    •      Follow established procedures and support continuous improvement efforts

    •      Perform other related duties as assigned

    Education and Experience

    •      High school diploma or equivalent

    •      Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    •      Experience with stamping presses and/or CNC machines strongly preferred

    •      Electrical experience a plus

    •      Background in tool and die or metal stamping industry is a plus

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    •      Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills

    •      Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems

    •      Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics

    •      Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices

    •      Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification preferred)

    •      Have the ability to use judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective work methods/tools to determine a proper course of action to achieve the best possible result. Answers to problems may not always be readily available or apparent, requiring searching out examples or historical practice.

    •      Clear written and verbal communication skills

    Supervision

    This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Leader and has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Physical Demands

    This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  

    Personal Protective Equipment

    Safety glasses are required on the shop floor. Additional PPE required for specific operations as needed (e.g., hard hat when working with overhead cranes).

    Work Environment

    Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and typical shop conditions is expected.
