Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an experienced 1st shift Die Board Technician/Machine Operator to join our Corrugated facility in Asheboro, NC!

Your Job

As a Die Board Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the plant''s safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement efforts. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing cutting dies, ensuring tooling is production-ready, and partnering with operations, quality, and suppliers to support reliable manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, operational excellence, and creating value through continuous improvement.

Pay:

  • $23.25 - $27/hr

Hours:

  • 1st: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • 2nd: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
  • 3rd: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Shift:

  • Candidates must be available to work ANY shift, including weekends as necessary. Shift placement will be determined upon hire.
  • The first 2 weeks to 4 weeks of orientation will be on 1st shift (7am - 3pm), and you will be assigned to a shift after your orientation.

What You Will Do

  • Support and promote a culture where safety, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping are top priorities.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and update cutting dies to ensure they meet production and quality requirements.
  • Verify cutting dies contain proper rubber, knives, rule, and configurations prior to use in production.
  • Coordinate with quality, customer service, and suppliers to ensure tooling is ordered, received, and maintained in optimal condition.
  • Maintain accurate tooling records and update systems upon completion of repairs and modifications.
  • Monitor waste, quality, and production performance metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities and continuous improvement projects that enhance quality, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), BRC standards, and all product safety and quality requirements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, converting, packaging, tooling, maintenance, or related industrial environment.
  • Experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing tooling or production equipment.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and measuring devices.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working with corrugated packaging equipment, cutting dies, or related tooling systems.
  • Knowledge of BRC, GMP, food safety, or quality management systems.
  • Experience utilizing root cause analysis methods and continuous improvement principles.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and tooling databases.
