Location:

Full-time, on-site opportunities available in Denver, Colorado and Houston, Texas. Join a collaborative office where you'll work closely with an experienced litigation team while advocating for homeowners.

Note:

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with either the Colorado Bar (for Denver) or the Texas Bar (for Houston) and have at least 2 years of litigation experience. Experience handling first-party property damage or insurance litigation is highly preferred but not required.

Job Description

  • Manage first-party property damage litigation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Represent homeowners in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Represent clients at hearings, court appearances, and trial as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy and progress.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver outstanding client service.
  • Stay current on developments in applicable state insurance law and first-party property litigation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Colorado Bar license (Denver) or Texas Bar license (Houston) in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • First-party property damage or insurance litigation experience preferred.
