POSITION SUMMARY
Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a GNC Engineer - Level 2 to support the development and evaluation of guidance, navigation, and control systems for advanced aerospace applications, including aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and launch vehicles.
The engineer will apply mathematical models, control theory, and algorithm development to support precision navigation and control performance. The role involves analyzing system behavior, developing technical solutions, and integrating hardware and software to support system reliability and mission success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience, OR Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience.
Existing U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Exposure to:
C++
Python
Linux development environment
Must obtain final clearance and required program access within the timeframe determined by Northrop Grumman.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience with control systems theory.
Experience with guidance law design.
Competence in:
C++
Python
Linux
Jira
Experience with 6DOF simulation.
Experience with state estimation and related GNC concepts.
Experience with trajectory optimization.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate is a GNC, controls, aerospace, or software engineer with experience developing and testing simulation or flight software in a Linux environment. Strong candidates should demonstrate proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB, and preferably have experience with 6DOF simulations, control systems, guidance algorithms, state estimation, or aerospace modeling.
Critical screening item: An existing Secret or Top Secret U.S. Government clearance is required for this position.
