REMOTE PHARMACIST – RETAIL PHARMACY / CLINICAL SERVICES

Fully Remote | Pharmacist | Contract-to-Hire Potential

We are hiring licensed Pharmacists for a fully remote opportunity supporting clinical pharmacy and specialty medication services.

This position is a strong fit for experienced Retail Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, and qualified New Graduate Pharmacists with demonstrated leadership, residency, fellowship, or other comparable experience.

PBM / Prior Authorization experience is NOT required.

Candidates with prior PBM experience should have at least 1 year of experience working in a PBM environment handling Prior Authorizations. MTM-only experience does not meet this preference.

PAY
$53.00 per hour

Contract-to-hire is the goal, although permanent conversion is not guaranteed.

SCHEDULE
Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST for approximately 5 weeks

After training, one of the following schedules will apply:

Monday–Friday: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM local time

OR

Sunday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM local time

Occasional weekends may be required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong, sustained pharmacy experience and the ability to manage a high-volume environment.

Preferred backgrounds include:

• Pharmacy Manager experience
• 2+ years as a Staff Pharmacist with the same employer
• Strong retail pharmacy experience
• Experience managing high customer/patient demand and competing priorities
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• New Graduate Pharmacists with strong leadership, residency, or fellowship experience will be considered
• PBM Prior Authorization experience is a plus, particularly 1+ year in a PBM setting
• Specialty Pharmacy experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Candidates should demonstrate employment stability and sustained success in comparable pharmacy environments.

PRIOR AUTHORIZATION / PBM EXPERIENCE
Prior Authorization experience is NOT required.

However, candidates with PBM experience should have:

• 1+ year of PBM experience
• Experience specifically handling Prior Authorizations
• Experience reviewing cases based on clinical criteria, policy, and procedure
• MTM-only experience is not the target background for this position.

NEW GRADUATES
Qualified New Graduate Pharmacists may be considered.

New graduates should be able to demonstrate relevant leadership or clinical experience through:

Pharmacy leadership roles
Residency
Fellowship
Significant pharmacy projects
Clinical initiatives
Other demonstrated leadership responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pharmacist will review and complete criteria-based clinical reviews and support specialty pharmacy services.

Responsibilities include:

• Review patient profiles, drug interactions, sensitivities, and medication utilization information.
• Review and complete criteria-based Prior Authorization activities according to established policies and procedures.
• Determine whether prescriptions require physician clarification, therapeutic intervention, or additional follow-up.
• Enter prescriptions accurately into pharmacy systems.
• Dispense prescription medications and perform final dispensing quality checks.
• Assist with patient services and respond to prescription medication questions and concerns.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve prescription-related questions.
• Support therapeutic intervention and physician call activities as assigned.
• Coordinate clinical services for specialty medications.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals by telephone and other approved methods.
• Resolve orders through the External Adjudication (EA) queue.
• Translate prescriptions and perform compounding activities as required.
• Maintain established quality assurance procedures.
• Follow security requirements for controlled substances and hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
• Collaborate with other pharmacy team members to ensure prescription accuracy and quality.
• Maintain strong documentation and organizational standards.
