Job Description
The Project Manager 2 is an intermediate level role that creates and manages products that reach a variety of audiences with the purpose of furthering the mission of the Church by inviting all to come unto Christ. The focus of the Project Manager is on meeting the needs of the customer audience.
The Project Manager is responsible for projects such as renovations/expansions. The PM 2 reports to a director or Project Manager 3. It is expected that the candidate consistently meets and regularly exceeds performance metrics.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand unmet customer and audience needs, preferences, pain points, and business objectives
- Balance stakeholder requirements with customer needs while aligning project priorities
- Establish and maintain a prioritized backlog of project requirements and partner with Project Owners to define project vision, objectives, and roadmaps
- Prioritize customer and business needs to maximize product value and outcomes
- Serve as the project ambassador, leading cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, technology teams, service departments, and vendors
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, enhancement, adoption, support, and retirement
- Lead project launch and adoption efforts for targeted audiences
- Develop project communication, messaging, and positioning for key audiences
- Establish, monitor, and report project success metrics, customer adoption, and operational outcomes
- Collaborate with business analysts, development teams, and vendors to translate requirements into product capabilities
- Evaluate and contract with service providers, including architects, engineers, consultants, vendors and contractors, to achieve the required standards of performance
- Monitor and direct the work of service providers to ensure performance standards are met
- Support and contribute to the work of related functions such as Facilities and Operations & Management (O&M) Management by managing projects and providing expertise and other services as needed
- Manage multiple projects at the same time
- Complete project status reports addressing schedules, budget, safety and other issues
Qualifications
Required:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field, or 15 years of Project Management experience
- Familiarity with the construction field including estimating, scheduling, and cost control
- Strong project execution and schedule management
- Proactive ownership and follow-through
- Stakeholder and vendor coordination
- Risk, issue, and scope management experience
- Dependency management / systems thinking
- Clear, concise communication and escalation
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-starter who proactively drives work to completion
- Comfortable holding internal and vendor teams accountable
- Able to identify and escalate risks, roadblocks, and scope creep early
- Must understand contracts, agreements, and real property transactions, and be able to prepare and manage project schedules and budgets
- Must be proficient in the use of computers and cellphones
- Must understand and be able to use Microsoft Office applications, department-specific software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications
Preferred:
- Master's degree and/or Project Management related certifications
- Experience with IBM TRIRIGA or other integrated workplace management systems (IWMS), facilities, or real estate technology experience
- Knowledge of data governance, reporting, and business process improvement methodologies
- Experience leading enterprise technology implementations and operational transformations
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors and workstreams
- Familiarity with Agile and traditional project management methodologies
