Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Engineer 3 to support multiple programs within the Connectivity and Networked Solutions (CNS) Business Unit. The selected candidate will design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical defense systems.

The role focuses on network architecture, routing and switching, SD-WAN technologies, and network security while supporting both current and future networking requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise network communication systems.
  • Develop network architecture, specifications, and detailed schematics.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, hubs, and other network devices.
  • Support network operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct network testing and validate system performance.
  • Evaluate new networking technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Support network security initiatives and ensure secure communications.
  • Provide hardware and software recommendations for scalable network solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams supporting defense programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of experience

OR

  • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience

OR

  • PhD with 1+ year of experience

  • CompTIA Network+ certification (or equivalent)

  • Experience with:

  • Juniper Networks

  • SD-WAN

  • Cisco Routers & Switches

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Cisco CCNA Certification
  • Experience supporting secure enterprise or DoD networks
