Job Overview

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet department standards. You will assist in the design, development, amendments, and optimization of schemas to meet system requirements. Your role will involve working across multiple platforms and computing environments to support the FDOT's data architecture needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) years of combined experience in database administration for SQL Server 2012 and above, and Oracle 10g and above.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems and principles.
• Ability to work independently on technical analysis and resolution of large enterprise database production issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively with project managers, business analysts, and data analysts.

Preferences

• Experience with Azure SQL and AWS SQL tools.
• Experience managing ArcGIS for Server.
• Knowledge of ESRI SDE Geodatabases.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational and database administration activities.
• Plan, design, and implement database structures.
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
• Perform SQL code reviews and assist with training/mentoring other technical staff.
