Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Assembler to support production and manufacturing operations involving electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. The selected candidate will perform assembly operations ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks on modules, panels, frames, cables, boards, and related components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with hand soldering, blueprint interpretation, quality inspections, and the use of hand and power tools. Candidates should be comfortable working with production assemblies, prototype modifications, rework, and testing activities while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
- Assemble modules, boards, panels, frames, drawers, and cables
- Read and interpret diagrams, drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and saws during assembly operations
- Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
- Conduct quality inspections in accordance with manufacturing specifications
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies and subassemblies
- Support prototype and experimental assembly activities
- Maintain a clean and safe manufacturing environment
- Follow work instructions and communicate effectively with team members
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- IPC J-STD-001 Certification
- 1-3 years of experience in hand soldering or electronic assembly
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of hand soldering experience including inspection and rework/repair
- Experience with soldering tools and assembly equipment
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints
- MES software experience
- Microsoft 365 experience
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing background preferred
