Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Dimension Control Technician 2 to support the Tooling Department at the El Segundo site. This role involves working with complex tooling, jigs, fixtures, and metrology systems to ensure precise alignment, fit, and assembly of aerospace components.

The ideal candidate will have experience in tool building, machining, fabrication, and laser tracking/metrology, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and operate precision equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate, and assemble jigs, fixtures, tool masters, and gauges
• Work with complex geometries, compound angles, and tight tolerances
• Plan work sequences and determine fabrication/assembly methods
• Set up and operate optical and metrology instruments to verify alignment and accuracy
• Develop and design holding devices, fixtures, and tooling components
• Prepare shop drawings and operational sequences for fabrication
• Perform quality verification using statistical process control methods
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

• Tool building

• Machining (mill, lathe, drill)

• Welding or fabrication

• Laser tracking / metrology

• Experience with Siemens NX, CATIA, or other 3D CAD tools

• Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs and work in a shop/warehouse environment

• Ability to handle small parts and mechanical assemblies

• Willingness to work any shift

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
