Qualifications:- LPN license
- School experience recommended but not required.
Role Overview:Here are the duties Follow plans created by RN to monitor for signs of hypoglycemia. If signs are noted, conduct a finger stick blood glucose check. Treat with orange juice via g-tube if indicated in nursing plan and medical orders. If student has a g-tube feeding going while on the bus, monitor the pump for kinks, occlusions, or other issues and troubleshoot as outlined in nursing plan. Monitor for signs of seizure activity. If student has a seizure, follow nursing plan and medical orders for student safety, timing of the seizure, and give sublingual medication if indicated. The person will work as student s aide on the bus and work with the school nurse
