Position: 1:1 Paraeducator Support Staff for Before School at BES Reports To: Before School Coordinator Work Year Days: Monday-Friday (varies) Work Hours: 7:10 am - 8:15 am (varies) Terms of Employment: September 2026- June 2027 Salary: $30.00 Per hour Educational/Training/Experience/License Required: Experience working with students with intensive special needs. Accountability Objective: Supervise students in the Before School Program at Boylston Elementary School as 1:1 support Responsibilities: The Before-School Program provides supervision and support for students in grades K-5 during the before-school program. Para will ensure a safe, positive, and engaging environment while overseeing student activities such as homework, play, and enrichment.

  • Supervise and monitor students to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
  • Engage with students in structured and unstructured activities.
  • Support students with homework, games, and recreational activities.
  • Assist with program routines such as snack, clean-up, and transition to new activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Enforce program rules and school expectations in a positive manner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Ability to manage groups of students in a positive and supportive way.
  • Dependable, responsible, and flexible.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting.
  • Ability to foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Reliability and flexibility to support the needs of the program.
