Description
To oversee Quality Assurance activities across production and warehousing, ensuring all raw materials, in process products, and finished goods meet company, customer, and regulatory standards. This role leads QA associates, manages monitoring and documentation programs, supports timely investigation and resolution of quality issues, and helps maintain safe, compliant, and audit ready food manufacturing operations.
- Supervises QA Leads and Technicians, developing, coaching, and providing performance feedback as well as attainment of goals and objectives.
- Assigns team's work activities based on production and warehouse schedules ensuring that all operations are covered with appropriate QA staff.
- Addresses comments and concerns on HACCP, Preventive Controls, and other food safety programs, and collaborates with Management on the actions necessary to resolve the issues within a timely manner.
- Identifies other non-food safety problems that impact the quality of raw materials and finished products. Determines reason for problems and recommends solutions.
- Supports the review or verification of the CCP/PC monitoring records, pre?op inspections, environmental monitoring, sanitation results, and other operational documentation.
- Assists in investigations into nonconformances, foreign material incidents, and customer complaints. This includes completion of root cause analysis and determination of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verifications.
- Manages product holds and disposition documentation.
- Delivers training on the annual GMPs, food safety, and quality procedures.
- Completes mock traceability exercises and reports trace results for Management review.
- Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with FSMA, SQF, USDA and FDA, certification and customer requirements.
- Ensures required quality and food safety testing and calibrations are maintained per approved schedule, and corrective actions are completed as needed.
- Supports execution of the Environmental Monitoring Program, including timely and effective completion of investigation and corrective actions for any nonconforming results.
- Supports process improvement initiatives and special projects.

- In addition to all the Key Responsibility areas of the Lead QA Technician, the QA Supervisor is accountable for assisting the QA Manager with training the QA/QC Technicians on all aspects of the position; including but not limited to GMP, HACCP, SQF, USDA and FDA regulations.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in food science or related discipline with minimum 5 years of related food manufacturing experience (preferably in a QA function). Related experience will be considered.
- Expert knowledge of GMP's, HACCP's, SQF, USDA and FDA regulations.
- HACCP Certification
- Must have strong writing, math, oral communication, and basic computer skills. Position requires ability to work effectively with cross-functional personnel.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Experience with testing equipment, SPCs, and digital QA systems.
Ability to conduct effective training.
