What you'll do...
As a Staff Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution of complex search ranking and relevance products, driving end-to-end outcomes from discovery through value realization. You will define and own a multi-quarter product vision and roadmap focused on helping customers discover the most relevant products while improving engagement, conversion, and broader business performance.
This role requires deep customer and technical insight, strong stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. You will partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Design, and Business teams to identify opportunities, shape machine-learning and algorithmic ranking capabilities, and measure their impact through experimentation. You will also address complex product-discovery challenges, including improving the ability of new and emerging items with limited interaction history to surface when they are relevant to customers.
You will influence product and technical direction, mentor peers, and ensure alignment with business goals while advancing innovation and operational excellence within the product area. This position requires a strategic mindset and strong leadership without direct people-management responsibilities.
About the team:The team leads strategy and execution for complex search ranking, relevance, and product-discovery experiences. It combines deep customer and technical insights with mature product leadership to define product vision, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans.
Working closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, Analytics, and Business partners, the team uses experimentation, machine learning, customer insights, and emerging technologies to make it easier for customers to find relevant products. The team manages the product lifecycle, prioritizes initiatives using data-driven insights, and delivers measurable improvements in customer experience and business performance while maintaining high standards of integrity and operational excellence.
What you'll do:- Define and execute a multi-quarter product vision and strategy for complex search ranking and relevance products, aligning customer needs, technical opportunities, and business goals.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, coordinating cross-functional teams from discovery and development through go-to-market planning, launch, experimentation, adoption, and scaling.
- Build deep customer and market insights using data analysis, design thinking, customer feedback, and product-performance data to identify and prioritize opportunities across search and discovery.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through experimentation, advanced analytics, and AI opportunity assessment, using search-quality metrics and downstream customer and business metrics to improve relevance, engagement, conversion, and overall search performance.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Science to shape the evolution of machine-learning and algorithmic ranking capabilities, influencing technical direction, architecture, feasibility, and innovation while translating customer and business problems into clear, measurable product objectives.
- Develop strategies that improve relevance and conversion while supporting appropriate product discoverability, including addressing cold-start challenges for items with limited interaction history so new and emerging items can surface when relevant to customers.
- Mentor product managers on product strategy, roadmap development, experimentation, launch readiness, and customer-centric product practices.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across technical and business teams to drive alignment, successful product adoption, and measurable outcomes.
What you'll bring:- Proven experience driving product strategy and managing multi-quarter roadmaps for complex or multiple related products.
- Product management experience with search, ranking, recommendations, personalization, or other machine-learning-driven customer experiences.
- Strong understanding of relevance, ranking, and experimentation concepts, with the ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Design, and Business teams.
- Expertise in data-driven decision-making, including advanced analytics and experimentation to evaluate product hypotheses and measure customer and business impact.
- Ability to connect improvements in search relevance and customer experience to measurable outcomes such as engagement, conversion, and the discoverability of new and emerging items.
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, from discovery through launch, scaling, adoption, and value realization.
- Ability to translate customer, market, and product insights into prioritized, measurable problem statements and product direction.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and technical direction without direct authority.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and the ability to assess their practical application within search, ranking, and product development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and align teams around customer and business outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
