    What you'll do...

    Role summary:
    As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while ensuring adherence to quality and security standards. You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support Walmart’s business objectives and operational excellence.
    About the team:
    The Dynamic Inventory team is essential to Walmart’s operations, focusing on forecasting product demand and optimizing inventory across distribution centers. The team develops advanced ETL and machine learning pipelines to enable accurate demand estimation and inventory management. Operating from locations including Sunnyvale and Bangalore, members collaborate to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions. The team applies strong technical skills in platform design, API development, and continuous integration to improve inventory efficiency, supporting operational excellence and enhancing customer satisfaction.
    What you'll do:
    • Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to design high-level solutions for small to medium projects.
    • Develop, test, and maintain code ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements, including security and scalability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
    • Manage complex projects by translating requirements into technical solutions and delivering on schedule.
    • Support users by providing technical guidance and identifying sustainable solutions.
    • Mentor small engineering teams, providing documentation, direction, and timelines.
    • Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.

    What you'll bring:
    • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and software design principles.
    • Strong technical acumen with experience in API design, platform development, and component services.
    • Proficiency in iterative and incremental development methodologies and continuous integration/delivery practices.
    • Ability to perform root cause analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting of complex software issues.
    • Experience with documentation-based coding and delivering scoped features or models.
    • Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence concepts and their application in software solutions.
    • Demonstrated capability to collaborate cross-functionally and support project management activities.

    The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
