Role summary:

The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex HVAC/R systems across commercial and industrial settings. This role ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and longevity. The position involves mentoring team members, coordinating service activities, and supporting critical business operations through timely issue resolution. The Senior Technician also drives continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and meet evolving organizational needs.

The Exterior Services team ensures Walmart's outdoor areas are expertly maintained through landscape care and irrigation repairs. This team efficiently manages projects while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Collaborating with internal and external partners, members deliver quality service, resolve challenges, and implement improvements that enhance sustainability and cost efficiency. The team fosters professional growth by sharing knowledge and guidance, upholding Walmart's commitment to integrity, operational excellence, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for all associates and customers.

What you''ll do:

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues in commercial and industrial settings.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes.
• Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
• Track parts inventory, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely material availability.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical business needs outside regular hours.

What you''ll bring:

• Extensive experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and building pneumatics.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant systems in commercial and industrial settings.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating technician performance.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
• Proficiency in managing parts inventory, vendor relationships, and coordinating service workloads to meet business priorities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to support process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
