Role summary: The Principal Technical Product Manager leads strategy across related products, translating complex customer and operational challenges into scalable, measurable solutions. This role requires strong analytical capability, including writing queries against Trace data, investigating product behavior, identifying root causes, and defining meaningful KPIs. The leader evaluates proposed solutions through data-driven analysis and establishes frameworks to measure performance and business impact. They proactively anticipate future data, instrumentation, quality, and reporting needs while designing products for expansion across use cases, markets, and operational environments. Working cross-functionally, they influence senior stakeholders, guide product execution, mentor peers, and advance technical product-management practices across the organization. About the team: Join a dedicated team advancing Walmart Fulfillment Engine’s data science capabilities focused on Promise and Sourcing. The team designs multi-agent workflows, develops forecasting models with calibrated uncertainty, and creates optimization solutions balancing speed, cost, and capacity. Leveraging advanced machine learning and AI, they deliver actionable insights and robust monitoring systems. Collaborating across Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations, the team integrates models into planning and real-time decision-making. Their work enhances fulfillment accuracy, capacity utilization, and cost efficiency, ensuring a faster and more reliable experience for customers. What you'll do:
  • Shape and drive product strategy across multiple related products, leveraging deep domain expertise and data-driven insights.
  • Define and manage comprehensive product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical feasibility.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to address complex customer problems and upstream/downstream impacts.
  • Establish scalable mechanisms for gathering and interpreting customer feedback and product usage data.
  • Guide teams in defining success metrics and validating product outcomes through advanced analytics and experimentation.
  • Influence enterprise prioritization and promote best practices in product management discipline.
  • Mentor product managers and contribute to organizational capability building through coaching and development.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or related field
  • Proven expertise in shaping product strategy and managing roadmaps across multiple related products.
  • Strong ability to leverage data-driven insights and advanced analytics to inform product decisions.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and influencing cross-functional teams at senior levels.
  • Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, including MVP development and scalable launch execution.
  • Technical proficiency in software engineering concepts, machine learning, and SQL.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring product managers and driving organizational capability building.
  • Skilled in defining measurable success metrics aligned with customer and business outcomes.
