The (USA) Director, Automation Engineering leads the strategic development and implementation of automation technologies to enhance supply chain efficiency. This role leverages advanced data analysis and engineering expertise to design, integrate, and optimize automated systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The director collaborates cross-functionally to influence decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and manage complex projects. About the team:
The Fulfillment Automation Design team defines how Walmart's next generation of fulfillment centers should work. We combine automation engineering, industrial engineering, analytics, and operations expertise to develop facility concepts, automation architectures, material flow strategies, capacity models, and design standards. Using simulation, data, and engineering analysis, the team evaluates tradeoffs, validates performance, and prepares concepts for detailed design and execution. Our work creates scalable, repeatable fulfillment solutions that improve capacity, speed, cost, resilience, and operational simplicity across Walmart's network.
