    ESCORT DRIVER

    Danner’s Incorporated | Escort Division

    Pay Range: $16.00–$18.00 per hour
    Employment Type: On-Call
    Schedule: Flexible / As Needed | 24/7 Operations

    Danner’s Incorporated is looking for dependable, safety-minded Escort Drivers to join our Escort Division. This position is an important part of our 24/7 operations, providing reliable transportation and operational support for crew members, materials, equipment, and customers throughout a variety of locations and working conditions.

    THE ROLE

    As an Escort Driver, you will safely transport crew members, materials, and designated items to assigned locations while representing Danner’s professionally. You will work closely with dispatch and customers, respond to changing schedules and operational needs, and help ensure transportation assignments are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

    This is an on-call position, so flexibility and reliability are essential. Escort Drivers may be called upon to support operations at docks, ports, airports, hotels, terminals, and other customer locations.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    Transportation & Customer Service

    • Safely transport crew members, materials, and other designated items to assigned locations.
    • Provide courteous, professional, and customer-focused service while representing Danner’s.
    • Follow all company policies and customer requirements at docks, ports, airports, hotels, terminals, and other assigned locations.
    • Make CTM and occasional freight deliveries as assigned.
    • Complete CBP paperwork accurately when required.
    • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while interacting with customers, crew members, dispatch, management, and the public.

    Vehicle Operation & Safety

    • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using company checklists.
    • Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable traffic laws and Danner’s policies.
    • Promptly report accidents, incidents, vehicle damage, unsafe conditions, or other safety concerns.
    • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
    • Properly maintain and use issued PPE, electronic devices, uniforms, safety vests, and other company equipment.
    • Practice safe driving at all times, including during nighttime operations and inclement weather.

    Communication & Documentation

    • Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding assignments, schedules, delays, and operational issues.
    • Accurately complete driver logs, trip documentation, inspection reports, and other required paperwork.
    • Submit required documentation accurately and within established deadlines.
    • Immediately communicate unexpected issues that could affect customer service, schedules, safety, or operational efficiency.
    • Utilize smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, navigation systems, dispatch technology, and company software to complete daily responsibilities.

    Operational Support

    • Remain available for on-call assignments based on operational needs.
    • Adapt to changing schedules, customer requests, weather conditions, and operational priorities.
    • Support company safety programs, operational initiatives, and overall business goals.
    • Assist with additional transportation and operational duties as assigned.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • Minimum age of 24 years old.
    • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
    • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
    • At least 1 year of recent commercial driving experience; 2 years preferred.
    • Experience operating cars, vans, and trucks.
    • Ability to pull trailers preferred.
    • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
    • Ability to successfully complete required background screening, health screening, and drug testing.
    • Ability to safely operate vehicles and related equipment.
    • Basic technology skills, including the ability to use smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, navigation systems, and company software.
    • Ability to use navigation and dispatch technology.
    • Basic math skills and the ability to read spreadsheets, lists, schedules, and other written information.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
    • Strong reasoning, problem-solving, observation, and attention-to-detail skills.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changing work hours and operational requirements.
    • Sense of urgency, initiative, follow-through, and pride in your work.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a growing, fast-paced environment.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires the ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and conditions.

    Escort Drivers must be able to:

    • Walk moderate distances.
    • Climb steep gangways, ladders, and stairs without assistance.
    • Work at heights without fear of heights.
    • Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
    • Kneel, stoop, reach, and step over or around obstacles.
    • Enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the workday.
    • Drive for extended periods.
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
    • Load and unload heavy equipment with moderate assistance.
    • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather.
    • Work in moderate to loud noise environments.
    • Safely operate vehicles during daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
    • Maintain sufficient vision, with or without corrective lenses, and hearing to understand oral directions.
    • Work flexible schedules that may include weekends and overtime.
    • Perform other physical duties associated with the position as required.

    • Complete transportation assignments safely, on time, and in compliance with company and legal requirements.
    • Complete logs, paperwork, inspections, and other documentation accurately and on time.
    • Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, customers, and crew members.
    • Keep assigned vehicles and equipment clean, safe, and serviceable.
    • Follow company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and dock regulations.
    • Demonstrate professional conduct and accountability.
    • Provide dependable customer service.
    • Adapt to changing operational requirements while maintaining safety and professionalism.
