The Grounds seasonal employee must be able to perform grounds maintenance & landscaping tasks for Sheridan College. Report to grounds supervisor with support from full time grounds personnel.

Reports To Zack Houck, Grounds Supervisor Education/Qualifications

• Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
• Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
• Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of grounds care, chemical usage, and grounds equipment operation and maintenance
• Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, horticulture, tree care, mulching, fencing
• Operation of equipment, string trimmers, chain saw, hedge shears, blowers and lawn mowing equipment, snow blower, hand tools, etc.
• Communication skills required
• Computer skills
• Ability to organize work tasks and work independently
• Establish a safe working environment
• Ability to relate to others in a safe and positive manner
• Wear proper attire for safety and appearance

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• All Weather Conditions
• Outdoor work with exposure to all elements-heat, rain, snow, ice, dust, mud, etc.
• Ability to lift 50lbs
