    Develop professional skills and teaching practices in the field of education. Students desiring to become teachers will love this opportunity! The position will support literacy/childhood learning projects for school programs, Kindlers and early childcare centers. This position involves community relations, marketing various educational opportunities for grade school and preschool children and providing support to the Education department through various roles.

    The position plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for young children within the Kindlers early childhood setting. This position supports the developmental and educational needs of children through hands-on activities, guided play, and collaborative learning experiences. Additionally, the role extends to supporting various initiatives and activities within Sheridan College's Education Department, including assisting faculty with classroom preparation, student engagement, and other education events.

    Provides support within educational settings within the community. The position demonstrates a passion for education-related events, childhood education, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both children and adults in dynamic educational settings.

    Reports To Traci Pollard, Faculty Supervisor Education/Qualifications

    • Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
    • Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
    • Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater
    • Student must be enrolled and designated Education as their major
    • Approved Background Check through One Source in the Education Department

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

    • Office setting with some duties outside of the office.
    • Student will need to travel between different working sites.
