Production Planning Manager The Production Planning Manager will direct and be responsible for coordinating all production planning activities as well as warehouse and shipping activities at our Toledo, Ohio Manufacturing facility. This individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the product produced and stored in the plant. The ideal candidate for this position must be an advocate for production planning best practices and standardization.Duties And Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Planning Manager's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical dataInteract with production and planning personnel to update and advise on order progress and new developmentsManage volume as needed to meet customer requirements both internal and externalMonitor inventories to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goalsOversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability.Responsible for audits for compliance with department standards and practicesMaintaining accurate needs attention and obsolete inventory and implement measures for improvement.Track/analyze data and produce required reportsUpdate and maintain the planning production systemInterface with manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping employees on material status and production planning issues.Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planningPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedQualifications 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics and materials handling role3+ years in a manufacturing environmentExperience in planning component parts from various suppliers, to support plant operations.Working experience in balancing customer service levels along with inventory goals.Computer proficiency in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Access.Exceptional organizational and project management skills.Excellent oral and written communications skills.The ability to work independently and with a team.Approximately 10% travelPreferred RequirementsPackaging industry and or metals processing experienceCertificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean ManufacturingKnowledge of AS400Capability and flexibility of managing changing business needs and requirementsProven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situationsTaking calculated initiative to drive improvementsHands on self-starter who is able to review a process, make recommendations, and then see it through to implementation.Effective oral and written communications skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as working independently and self-directedProcess oriented with a continuous improvement mindsetAbility to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completionProficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook required#J-18808-Ljbffr
