Job Description The Statewide Education and Outreach Manager serves as a primary ambassador for Kentucky 811, traveling throughout the state to educate stakeholders on 811 services, damage prevention, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on public speaking, training, outreach, and relationship-building with contractors, excavators, utilities, municipalities, and industry partners to promote safe excavation practices and reduce underground utility damage. Candidates can reside in any city in the state of Kentucky with a strong preference for either Elizabethtown, Lexington, Louisville, Florence or Bowling Green.
Key Responsibilities
Travel statewide to deliver in-person presentations, training sessions, and educational outreach related to Kentucky 811 services and compliance requirements
Educate contractors, excavators, utilities, municipalities, and the public on safe excavation practices and damage prevention laws
Represent Kentucky 811 at industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, and community events
Serve as a knowledgeable resource on Kentucky 811 policies, procedures, and compliance standards
Build and maintain strong working relationships with industry stakeholders and partners
Assist with development and delivery of educational materials, presentations, and outreach initiatives
Document outreach activities and provide reports on education efforts, trends, and compliance observations
Support statewide damage prevention goals through proactive education and engagement
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; strong preference for college degree
Must reside in the state of Kentucky
Minimum of 2-3 years of public speaking experience, including presentations, training, or educational outreach, preferably in front of crowds ranging from 5 to 500.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Kentucky approximately 75% of the time with roughly 40-60 overnight stays/year. Must attend 2-3 out-of-state industry conferences per year. Incumbent will work from home the remainder of the time.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

Weekly hours will vary from 40 to roughly 60 (during peak season). Most events are typically held Monday - Friday during the day. Work-related dinners and/or travel in the evenings will be involved at times. There are rare weekend events.
This is an exempt position with no payment for overtime.
Must have dedicated home office area including space for promotional materials storage.
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary range - $90,000 - $105,000
