Sr. Full Stack Software Developer - Test Automation
Combination of remote and onsite work in Chantilly, VA; Denver, CO; Colorado Springs, CO; and Huntsville, AL
Responsibilities
Serve as an embedded, full stack software developer within the prime contractor's development team, operating under the prime contractor's technical direction
Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications and services using C#, Java, and Python
Build and support event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka
Develop, deploy, and support containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes
Contribute to front-end development using React and/or Angular, and back-end services using Node.js
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites spanning unit, integration, and regression testing
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery of Work Product
Define and champion test automation strategy, tooling, and coverage standards for the embedded team
Identify test coverage gaps, reduce manual/regression testing burden, and partner with developers to build testability into new features from the start
Support delivery timelines and Work Product acceptance criteria under the governing Work Statement
Collaborate with the prime contractor's technical leads and cross-functional development team members, and coordinate with the second embedded Blacknight Space developer on shared platform concerns
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional full stack software development experience, including senior-level ownership of features or subsystems
Proficiency in C#, Java, and Python
Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks (unit, integration, and/or regression)
Experience with Apache Kafka
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker (containerization and orchestration)
Experience with Node.js
Proficiency with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React or Angular
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Experience with version control systems (e.g., git, svn)
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively as an embedded resource within a customer-directed development team
Citizenship & Security Clearance
This is a U.S. Government subcontract position with contractual citizenship and security clearance requirements that apply to this role regardless of other qualifications:
Must be a United States citizen
Must be eligible for and willing to obtain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance, if required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with test automation tooling such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, or pytest
Experience with performance, load, or security test automation
Prior experience embedded on a DoD or other U.S. federal government software development program
Experience with aerospace, simulation, mission analysis, or orbit determination software is a plus but not required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Active TS/SCI clearance
