Lead and oversee capital expenditures by partnering with operations and engineering to evaluate investments, validating financial returns (ROI, NPV, payback), monitoring spend against budgets, and ensuring expected benefits are achieved through post-investment review. This position will be responsible for developing product costing for our extruded product lines, analyzing production variances, and providingdata to make fact-based, value-add decisions throughout the organization.

Partner with the Operations Controller, operations team, and finance team for a $400M global industrial operation to drive positive financial performance. This is not just a cost accounting position; it is a financial partner and is expected to challenge business partners and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive product costing models and allocations, ensuring they accurately reflect all cost components, including materials, labor, overhead, and other relevant expenses.
  
• Improve costing transparency throughout the organization.
  
• Conduct in-depth analysis of costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Support the operations team to develop and execute action plans.
  
• Analyze production variances, develop root cause, and support the operations team with mitigating actions.
  
• Analyze inventory levels and slow-moving stock.
  
• Develop, capture, and analyze operational metrics to identify trends, support strategic changes and improve the company's financial performance.

• Understand internal controls and review local policies and procedures to assess best practices and risks.
  
• Provide value-added, fact-based analytics through the interpretation of financial results. Drive improved decision making through insightful analysis and strong relationships with key operations personnel.
  
• Support with the preparation of weekly, monthly and yearly financial reports.
  
• Develop costing plans for annual budgets.
  
• Coordinate with and support of external and internal auditors.
  
• Work with other members of the finance team to compile, analyze and report other data.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent computer skills, specifically Excel (i. e. data analysis, pivot tables etc.).
  
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  
• Ability to plan time, manage reporting deadlines, and multi-task.
  
• Reliable, flexible and self-motivated.
  
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
  

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred.
  
• Five (5) + years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  
• Experience with standard cost.
  
• Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
  
• SAP experience a plus.
  
• Power BI or other automation tools a plus.
  

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to machine noise.
  
• Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
  
• Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  
• Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
  
• Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
  
• This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  
• Up to 10% travel may be for domestic.
  

Salary Range:$75,000 - $95,500 Per Year + Bonus
