POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will price estimates, manage bids, collaborate with clients, and mentor junior staff. A strong knowledge of structural steel and estimating software isessential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of estimators in preparing project pricing
• Analyze Design Drawings and other Contract Documents to generate fabrication, materials, and labor estimates.
• Consult with clients, vendors and in-house personnel (in other departments) to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain tendering process and conduct negotiations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years prior estimating experience
• Ability to lead others in a team environment and make decisions best suited for the project
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and BlueBeam
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate with those at all levels.
• Possess strong documentation skills.
• Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
• Possess analytical skills and math background

Preferred:

• 5+ years prior estimating experience
• Experience with Tekla EPM or other estimating software
• Experience with 3D modeling software (Tekla, Revit, Navis, SDS)
• Experience estimating steel erection and metals installation
• College Degree in engineering, construction management or related field
