The Division of Business is seeking to hire a student worker for the Spring 2027 semester to serve as Administrative Assistant.

Position Title: Division of Business Administrative Assistant (Student Worker)

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Start Date: This position is intended to support the Division of Business beginning with the Spring 2027 semester. Candidates may begin as early as December 1, 2026 to allow time for training and onboarding. The position will remain open until filled.

Successful candidates may continue in the role beyond Spring 2027, provided they remain enrolled as students, maintain satisfactory performance, and the position continues to meet departmental needs.

Expected Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week during regular business hours, with flexible scheduling around class/athletic commitments. Hours may vary based on departmental needs and the student's availability.

Position Overview

This position reports to the Division Chair and provides administrative and front-office support to the Division of Business faculty. The role requires reliability, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail

  • Answer phones, greet and direct visitors, and provide excellent customer service

  • Perform general administrative and clerical tasks for the division such as:

  • Maintain faculty load sheets

  • Collect and organize course syllabi

  • Process credit card and bill paperwork

  • Assist with contract and overload paperwork

  • Maintain division files and records as needed

  • Assist with scheduling campus visits

  • Send, track, and follow up on communications

  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students

  • Support other projects and duties as assigned. Special projects may be assigned from time to time and may include:

  • Developing and maintaining a student or alumni database for outreach and marketing purposes

  • Managing the Division of Business social media accounts

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
  • Professional demeanor and reliable work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Prior office or administrative experience
