    Title: Procurement Specialist (P1) - Transactional Procurement

    Duration: 12 Months

    Location: Portland, ORHybrid - 3x/week at WTC, 2x/week remote

    Job Description

    • The Associate ProcurementSpecialist plays a critical role in maintaining efficient procurementoperations.
    • This position is responsiblefor transactional procurement activities, including managing purchaserequisitions and supporting low risk sourcing efforts.
    • The role ensures timely andaccurate processing of routine procurement tasks, enabling Category Buyersand Category Managers to focus on higher value tactical and strategicactivities.
    • This position supports thesmooth flow of procurement work, ensures compliance with establishedprocesses, and contributes to a reliable source to pay cycle.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Requisition & PurchaseOrder Processing
    • Process all purchaserequisitions (POs & COs) in compliance with PGE's procurementpolicies.
    • Validate purchase requestsand ensure accuracy of documentation.
    • Conduct basic purchasingsupport activities.
    • Low-Risk Sourcing
    • Develop RFIs, RFQs, and RFPsfor assigned simple sourcing events.
    • Determine appropriateprocurement method and negotiate pricing for routine buys.
    • Apply basic knowledge ofsourcing principles to help identify process improvements and cost savingopportunities.
    • Contract Management
    • Help draft and executecontracts based on established procurement frameworks.
    • Apply contract extensions andescalate issues when required.
    • Prepare formal notices andmaintain supplier performance reports.
    Administrative & Workflow Support
    • Manage procurement-relatedtickets (e.g., ServiceNow) and triage requests.
    • Compliance & Coordination
    • Ensure adherence toprocurement standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with CategoryBuyers and Category Managers for smooth handoffs and timely execution.
    Requirements

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in supplychain, Business, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
    • 1-2 years in supply chain,procurement, category management, or related fields
    • Familiarity withERP/Procurement systems and procurement processes preferred.
    • Skills & Competencies
    • Strong attention to detailand organizational skills.
    • Working knowledge ofprocurement methods, standards, and procedures.
    • Basic contract negotiationskills.
    • Understanding of marketconditions relevant to evaluating supplier bids and performance.
    • Basic sourcing strategyformulation.
    • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice and ERP/Procurement tools.
    • Basic analytical,decision-making, and communication skills.
    • Working interpersonal,organization, and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines,follow accuracy standards, and collaborate effectively.
    • Ability to respond to change,accept feedback, and apply learnings.
