Job Details: Location: Austin, IN 47102 | Type: Full Time | Salary Range: $19.80 - $21.80 | Shift: 1st | Category: PressResponsibilities Leadership Provide day‑to‑day directions and support to press associates and team leadersFoster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the production floorCoach and mentor employees to improve performance, skills, and engagementLead shift meetings, communicate expectations, and reinforce company goalsAddress performance issues constructively and support corrective actionsEncourage employee involvement in problem‑solving and continuous improvementService Lead, coach, and develop press operators to achieve safety, quality, and production goalsEnsure compliance with all safety policies, including LOTO and safe work practicesDrive accountability for performance and behavioral expectations on the floorCoordinate cross‑functional support to resolve production and quality issuesEscalate risks to delivery or quality in a timely and structured mannerConduct daily shift meetings focused on performance, priorities, and communicationTrain and certify team members on equipment operation and quality standardsOperations Lead daily press operations to meet production schedules and takt time requirementsOversee die setup, changeovers, and first‑piece validation to ensure quality at startupMonitor and drive key performance indicators (OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput)Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, coordinating with Maintenance as neededEnforce standardized work, 5S, and layered process audits (LPA)Drive continuous improvement initiatives (SMED, waste reduction, efficiency gains)Ensure adherence to control plans, PFMEA requirements, and operator instructionsSupport new program launches, including trials, run‑at‑rate, and PPAP readinessQuality Assurance Prepare the press to be ready to run the line before the operator arrives (die setting, fingers, materials, tags, and documentation)Ensure a supply of PPE (gloves, sleeves, and other safety items)Confirm part quality by checking parts produced, monitoring catchers, and physically inspecting partsEnsure scheduled strokes (quantity) are accomplished and track progress toward production targetNotify coordinator of issues so appropriate countermeasures can be implementedSupport ISO‑9001 / ISO‑14001 requirementsEnsure presses/equipment are set up and ready for production on the next scheduled shiftAccountability Accountable to: Press Coordinator, Press Assistant Manager, Press ManagerQualifications High school diploma or GED preferred1‑3 years of experience in metal stamping or automotive manufacturingProven leadership and communication skillsStrong understanding of stamping press operations, dies, and toolingStrong problem‑solving and decision‑making skillsAbility to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
