The WVU Career Center at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Student Employment Program Coordinator.
About the Opportunity
The Student Employment Program Coordinator manages and supports the University's Student Employment Program, providing training, guidance, and resources to faculty, staff, supervisors, and students. The position collaborates with campus stakeholders to strengthen the student employment experience and advance career readiness initiatives that help students develop and articulate transferable skills gained through on-campus employment.
The Student Employment Program Coordinator also coordinates outreach and data collection efforts for the University's First Destination Survey (FDS), working with students and campus partners to support participation and the collection of graduate outcomes information. Additionally, the position oversees the WVU Career Center's day-to-day front-office, business, financial, and administrative operations, including supervision of the student workforce supporting office operations.

WVU Student Employment Program
Career Center Business & Administrative Operations
Manage the WVU Career Center's day-to-day business and financial operations, serving as liaison to Shared Services and Strategic Planning & Analysis for accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, financial transactions, travel, and related business processes.
Manage and reconcile revenues and expenditures associated with Career Center operations, career fairs, programs, and events, including fee collection, TouchNet deposits, PCard expenditures, financial reporting, and revenue-sharing processes, ensuring compliance with University and WVU Foundation policies.
Assist with development and monitoring of the Career Center's annual fiscal year budget, including financial activity, anticipated expenditures, revenues, and projections.
Coordinate daily front-office operations to ensure effective coverage, responsive customer service, and consistent handling of student, employer, and University inquiries and referrals.
Assist with reviewing and maintaining Career Center chatbot content to help ensure information provided to students and other users is accurate, consistent, and current.
Manage the student workforce supporting front-office operations, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervision, performance evaluation, and separation, to ensure appropriate coverage and consistent, high-quality service.
Serve on University committees and support departmental strategic planning, assessment, operational initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
Coordinate University-wide FDS outreach and participation efforts, including communications, reminders, timelines, and follow-up activities designed to increase student participation and response rates.
Educate students about the purpose and importance of the First Destination Survey and how their participation contributes to understanding and communicating graduate career and educational outcomes.
Coordinate with colleges, schools, and campus partners to support FDS outreach, participation, and collection of sourced graduate outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the following:
Planning and coordinating programs, projects, initiatives, or events.
Providing training, guidance, or support to students, employees, supervisors, or other stakeholders.
Supervising, training, or coordinating student employees, staff, or volunteers.
Using information systems, software applications, or technology platforms to support program or administrative operations.
Managing or supporting administrative, business, financial, or operational functions, including budgeting, financial transactions, reconciliation, recordkeeping, or reporting.
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
