About the Opportunity
We are seeking a talented .NET Developer to join a leading digital commerce and eCommerce technology organization that supports a portfolio of well-known home improvement and specialty retail brands. This team is responsible for building and enhancing customer-facing applications and backend services that power large-scale online shopping experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern cloud-based applications, distributed systems, and high-traffic digital platforms while collaborating with an experienced engineering team in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications, APIs, and backend services using .NET and .NET Core.
- Build and enhance ASP.NET web applications and RESTful APIs that support eCommerce and business-critical platforms.
- Develop solutions within distributed system architectures, leveraging messaging and event-driven technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, QA, and other engineering groups to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and best practice initiatives.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Contribute to modernization efforts and help drive continuous improvement across development processes and technology stacks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience developing applications using C#, .NET, and .NET Core.
- Proven experience building Web APIs and ASP.NET web applications.
- Experience with JavaScript and modern front-end development practices.
- Hands-on experience with React.js preferred.
- Experience designing and developing applications in distributed systems environments.
- Familiarity with messaging/event-driven frameworks such as:
- NServiceBus
- Azure Service Bus
- Amazon SQS
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented design, and API development.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as:
- GitHub Copilot
- Cursor
- Claude Code
- Experience working in cloud environments and modern microservices architectures.
- Background supporting high-volume eCommerce or customer-facing digital platforms.
Additional Information
- Candidates must be local to the Houston area.
- Hybrid work arrangement with onsite attendance required Monday through Thursday and remote work flexibility on Fridays.
