The Marketing Department is recruiting for one full time Marketing Assistant. This position provides support for the Director of Marketing & Communications and other Marketing & Communications personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives department's project requests and assigns tasks using an online project management system
  • Serves as a liaison for Marketing & Communications and facilitates consistent communication and collaboration with personnel from various departments to plan for upcoming marketing projects
  • Uses a content management system to submit content, post events, upload photos and videos, and generate reports
  • Processes budget and purchasing requests, reconciles expenses, tracks expenditures, and provides Director of Marketing & Communications with monthly budget reports
  • Uses Microsoft Office and other software to input data, maintain accurate records, create reports, and carry out requests
  • Creates and maintains online forms and surveys
  • Tracks the College's daily media activity and prepares reports
  • Maintains the College's website calendar and submits College event information to community event calendars
  • Orders supplies and maintains inventory
  • Assists with various marketing and recruiting efforts, including events, photo shoots, advertising, social media, mailings, research, and special projects
  • Answers departmental phone calls and emails
  • Uploads digital ads to campus monitors
  • Recruit mascot volunteers and coordinates mascot appearances
  • Coordinates travel activities and processes travel reimbursements
  • Distributes marketing materials to businesses and community partners
  • Schedules meetings, makes room reservations, and provides support to members of the Marketing & Communications team
  • Assists the Communication Center with calls and live chats
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in office technology or business-related field preferred
  • Minimum three years of related experience preferred
  • Familiarity with a community college environment preferred
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in a wide range of situations
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to and work independently under time constraints
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
  • Must be available to work occasional evening and weekend events

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The following benefits apply to all full-time positions scheduled to work 30 hours or more each week. These full-time positions are also eligible to participate in our TRS retirement plan.

Participation in the Teacher Retirement System is mandatory (ORP option for eligible employees)

  • Currently, the employee contribution is 8.25%. The state and Victoria College, together, contribute 8.25%

Note: Applicants who travel over 200 miles round trip will be reimbursed up to $500 for travel expenses according to the travel reimbursement procedure. However, applicants who decline employment offers will not be reimbursed.
