Job Title: Logistics CoordinatorJob DescriptionThe Logistics Coordinator supports smooth production and distribution operations by planning material flow, coordinating internal and external logistics, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role works closely with production, suppliers, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure materials, components, and finished goods move efficiently through the facility while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the timely delivery of rawmaterials and components to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are properly staged, delivered, and replenished at workstations as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies between ERP and warehouse systems.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages, quality issues, and expedited shipments to maintain a reliable supply chain.
- Oversee the internal movement of materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas to ensure efficient material flow.
- Manage inbound and outbound freight, including verifying shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure shipping and receiving activities comply with customer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Use data and reporting tools to track logistics performance, identify issues, and support decision-making.
- Identify waste and inefficiencies in material flow and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, safely and in accordance with facility procedures, when required.
- Provide responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders by addressing logistics-related inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Perform accurate data entry for orders, shipments, and inventory transactions within ERP and related systems.
Essential Skills- Experience in logistics coordination, including material planning, internal logistics, and shipping and receiving operations.
- Proficiency in inventory control practices, including performing cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies across ERP and warehouse systems.
- Ability to manage inbound and outbound freight and verify all associated documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Experience communicating with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages, quality concerns, and expedited shipments.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders, inventory transactions, and logistics records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for reporting, data analysis, and communication.
- Customer service skills to support internal teams and external partners in resolving logistics-related issues.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment, as required for the role.
- Familiarity with lean concepts and continuous improvement practices such as 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working in a manufacturing or production support environment.
- Experience in using ERP or warehouse management systems for inventory and order management.
- Exposure to clean, climate-controlled warehouse or production facilities.
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment undergoing construction and expansion.
- Ability to work both 1st or 2nd shift and remain flexible to support Saturday work when needed.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a clean, climate-controlled facility that is currently undergoing construction and expansion to support product growth. The environment is fast-paced and can feel busy due to ongoing hiring and building improvements. There is one opening on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) and one opening on 2nd shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Candidates need to be open to working on Saturday when business needs require it. The facility includes an on-site cafeteria, and work involves regular interaction with receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas, as well as the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
