    Description

    Overview Inventory Specialist role at Walgreens. Responsible for executing, monitoring, and maintaining inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and returns. Ensures On-Shelf Availability and accuracy of planograms, pricing, and in-store inventory processes.Responsibilities Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and SOPs for the entire store (front end and pharmacy).Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.Champion On-Shelf Availability; receive, count, price, process returns, and manage in-store inventory processes.Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications affecting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques; file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.Open and close the store in designated stores as required, including system start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring floor and stock room readiness for the business day.Engage customers, greet and assist with products and services; lead on-duty duties to resolve customer issues and ensure a positive experience.Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.Scan and verify deliveries, coordinate tote audits, and correct inaccurate orders; ensure accurate postings of pharmacy shipments and related orders.Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns before expiration.Manage pharmacy inventory activities including recalls, vendor returns, and damaged salvage; facilitate excess inventory returns or interstore transfers when applicable; verify postings of pharmacy/prescription claims.Perform pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and ensuring accurate signage and regulatory pricing tasks.Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders for excesses, and maintain consigned inventory as required.Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across departments, stockroom, and overstock locations; ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.Assist in inventory records maintenance and prepare for physical inventory activities; support third-party inventory processes as needed.Keep counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised; be knowledgeable of store systems and equipment.Coach and assist with package delivery processes, scanning in/out, and participation in the Pickup Program where applicable.When serving as leader on duty, manage POS-related tasks including scan verifications, price verifications, price changes, and handling returns and cash handling as required.Training & Personal Development Attend company trainings for continuous development and complete all e-learning modules including safety training requirements.Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Six months of prior Walgreens experience (internal) or one year of prior retail experience (external); fluent in English; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities; experience identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate; prior Walgreens experience preferred.Legal & Company Information We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
