Overview The Inventory Control and Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining and monitoring inventory levels, performing cycle counts, and preparing outgoing shipments and shipping reports. Duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations, and documenting damage to inventory. Some data input and report generation is required. Works under the close direction of the Department Manager and Senior Management.Duties/Responsibilities Performs Cycle Counts and Monitors Inventory LevelsGenerates reports on Inventory levels as neededManages the shipment of all products, materials, and suppliesCollaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of productsTracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipmentsMaintains a clean, neat, and member-ready areaMaintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accuratelyGenerates Shipping Reports as neededEngages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitudeProvides additional backup support for stockroom and receiving departmentsKeeps files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping reports for managersQualifications Experience with inventory management systems (ERP or MRP Software)Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong sense of time organization and urgencyAble to work independently and within a teamAbility to multi-taskExcellent organization and administrative skillsIntegrity and leadership skillsExemplary customer care skillsGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate warehouse machinery such as forkliftsDetail-orientedRequirements 1+ years of experience in inventory, logistics, warehousing, and shipping / receivingForklift certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 daysStrong attention to detail and organizational skills with a track record of maintaining inventory accuracyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environmentPhysical Requirements Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, to operate a motor vehicle and forkliftStrength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephoneFinger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculatorPositions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work.
