Job DescriptionJob Description:Under the direction of the Section Manager, Recruitment, a Human resources Coordinator plays a critical role by supporting the Human Resources (HR) recruitment team.
Essential functions include:
- Sourcing candidates and administering pre-employment and bus operating skills tests.
- Scheduling interviews and candidate testing.
- Assisting HR staff with new employee orientations and exit interviews.
- Entering data into the Human Resources Information System.
- Completing new hire files.
- Maintains electronic file and paper file records;
- Performing various employment related reference checks.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalency is required. Associate's degree in human resources or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience:Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a similar role with excellent work history.
Licenses: Must have a current and valid State of Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana driver's license and a safe driving record.
Proficiencies:Must have Intermediate level proficiency in the use of computer software, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe. Experience with Oracle and APEX preferred.
Must demonstrate strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills; be highly organized with an extreme attention to detail.
Must be able to successfully work on numerous projects simultaneously and efficiently, to meet project deadlines; Demonstrate excellent reading comprehension, written and oral communication skills.
Physical Requirements:This role requires sitting for extended periods, typing on a computer, and must be able to carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions:This position is based in an office setting, with standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and desk space. This role may require travel within the six-county RTA region, and travel outside of the RTA region.
