Department: Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Job Summary The Multi-Skilled Technician is an experienced health care worker who provides both patient care and administrative support. Staffing three Post Anesthesia Care Units located at the main Sarasota campus. PACU is a high acuity, fast paced department recovering over 100 surgeries a day. MST duties in PACU range from patient transporting to drawing blood, stocking supplies, and checking blood sugars. PACU is very team oriented and an exciting place to work.

Shift Details

  • Three 12s from 11p-11:30a
  • Occasional weekends required

Salary Details

  • Hourly rate is determined by years of experience relating to this role and internal equity within organization.
  • Minimum rate starting at $20.00.
  • Maximum of salary range is $28.20.

Required Qualifications Require one of the following:

  1. Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment.
  2. Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a. Currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN). b. Have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN. c. Cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN. d. Nurse/Practical Nurse Graduate who is eligible and/or scheduled to sit for the NCLEX exam within 12 months of hire date.
  3. Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.

Grandfather Clause Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer the ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for specific patient population, served by the department.
  • Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
  • Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Mandatory Education

  • HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

Required License and Certs

  • BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
