# Department: Emergency Care Center

## Job Summary Emergency Care Center (ECC): The ECC is an approximate 70-bed unit and Level II Trauma Center, located in the Critical Care Tower on the first floor. We serve our communitys acute care needs from infants to geriatrics.

Our MSTs are crucial team members in the ECC, with a role that supports the RN. They start IVs, obtain labs, perform EKGs, assist with general patient care, answer call lights, and provide continuous cardiac monitoring. As they gain experience, we also offer training with Ultrasound IV and critical care/trauma patients.

Our ECC department culture is diverse in that we have staff with all levels of experience and knowledge. We foster a team-based approach and work side by side with other departments for continuity of patient care.
